imageMitsubishi has announced its new XD211U data projector. It has a suggested retail price of US$1,595 and will be available in May.

The XD211U is a native XGA (1024×768 pixels) resolution projector that uses the latest DLP technology from Texas Instruments, and its new DDP 2230 DMD chip with BrilliantColor. Weighing six pounds, it sports features such as instant shut-off and a lamp that purportedly lasts up to 3,000 hours with 2200 lumens of brightness. In addition, the XD211U also comes with an auto-search feature that automatically recognizes either video or data input sources.

The Mitsubishi projector is designed with a removable control key pad that also acts as a remote control, so in rooms where access to the projector needs to be restricted and/or monitored, the removable control panel acts as a theft-deterrent and a great way to control usage. In addition to the detachable key pad, the XD211U also comes with a security hook built into the projector’s white cabinet to help avoid theft and unauthorized removal of the projector.

Mitsubishi’s new, high-brightness XD211U enables users to present in a myriad of lighting conditions. It boasts a five-segment color wheel (R, G, B, W, Y) and 2000:1 contrast ratio.
